50's Costumes

For a time that brought great expansion of culture, the 1950s is filled with transitions. Everyone needed to learn to duck and cover in case of a nuclear attack. Television began making its way into homes across the USA, and Disneyland opened in the middle of the decade. Donna Reed became the stereotypical mother for an era that included Ozzie and Harriet Nelson.

Of course, the cool cats wore leather jackets with a pack of cigarettes rolled in the sleeve of their t-shirts. Slick back the hair and add a plastic comb, and they were ready for a fight or a drag race to Deadman’s Curve. The ladies wore poodle skirts and went out to swing dance with their dates. Everyone gathered around the jukebox at the local malt shop. Reliving these days is as easy as finding the right costume and getting a group of friends together to hang out at the local drive-in.
